What Makes the Kia Rio So Popular?

The Rio is the smallest vehicle made by Kia and it is also their most affordable. It comes in two body styles: a sedan or a hatchback. The available trim levels are base, LX and SX. The hatchback body style is available in LX and SSX trims only. All the models of the Rio have a 1.6-liter engine with 110-horsepower and five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission.
The 2010 Rio will share its basic design with its sibling Hyundai Sonata, though pricing-wise Rio will be a lot cheaper than Sonata. More so, the new Rio doesn’t lag behind any of its rivals in terms of aesthetics as well as comfort. The latest generation Rio vehicles will feature a satellite radio, which will also be able to work as an MP3 player.
This car too, can accommodate up to five passengers with ease, and is the reason it is considered to be a family car. The Kia Rio models offer comfort and convenience to their owners which are complemented by the affordability of the model. The Kia Rio also features the four wheel antilock brakes.
Kia has a 6 airbag safety feature standard on every car. Plus, the car comes complete with airbag and seatbelt latch sensors, anti-lock brakes, 3-point seat belts throughout the car, dual front airbags, curtain airbags, fog lights, and 24 hours roadside assistance. You’ll never have to wonder about your tires either with the 24 hour tire monitoring system.
With the exception of the better fuel economy, all of the other 2010 Engine Options and power train choices will stay the same as the 2009 model. Cruise control is still not available as an option, but the rest of the benefits of the vehicle outweigh this minor inconvenience. Several body styles are available including a wagon version, but all share the same motor.
2010 KIA Rio and RIO 5 are armored with 1.6 L capacity engine which will be mated with five speed manual gear transmission and four speed automatic gear transmission as an option on SX and LX models. Rio 5 is fitted with automatic transmission and capable of accelerating from zero to 60 MPH in 11.5 seconds.
